Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how CarPulse ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the CarPulse mobile application and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy. CarPulse is operated from Albania and Kosovo and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable local data protection law.
2. Information we collect
Account data: name, email, phone number, password (hashed), profile photo and dealer details where applicable. Listing data: vehicle information, photos, price, location and description you upload. Usage data: device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, crash logs and pages or screens viewed. Location data: approximate or precise location, only when you grant permission, used to surface nearby listings. Communications: messages exchanged with other users through the in-app chat and any support tickets you send us.
3. How we use your data
We process your data to: provide and maintain the Service; create and secure your account; publish and rank listings; deliver notifications and saved-search alerts; prevent fraud, abuse and policy violations; provide customer support; comply with legal obligations; and improve the Service through aggregated analytics.
4. Legal basis for processing
We rely on the following legal bases under GDPR: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for); your consent (for optional features such as marketing notifications and precise location); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement); and legal obligation (tax, accounting, law-enforcement requests).
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: service providers acting on our behalf (cloud hosting, push notifications, analytics, payment processors) under written contracts; other CarPulse users (only public listing and profile information); law enforcement and regulators when required by law; and successors in case of merger or acquisition, in accordance with this Policy. Our analytics provider is PostHog (eu.posthog.com), with data hosted in the European Union. We do not share data with ad networks and do not use cross-app tracking.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months after deletion to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Listing data is retained for up to 12 months after a listing is removed. Backups are rotated on a 90-day cycle.
7. Your rights
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; delete your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to certain processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@carpulse.al. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies on the website and SDKs in the mobile app for essential functionality, security, analytics and (with your consent) marketing. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside Albania and Kosovo, including within the European Union. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
