How ranking works
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Recommended order (default)
When you search without choosing a sort order, listings are ordered by a score that combines: • how well the listing matches your search and filters; • listing quality: number of photos, completeness of the details and how the price compares with similar cars; • freshness: how recently the listing was published or updated; • how quickly the seller usually answers buyers; • for some visitors, a small personalised part based on the cars they viewed on CarPulse; • limits so that one seller cannot fill a whole page; • paid placement (see below).
Paid and promoted placement
Some listings get a higher position because a payment or a commercial arrangement is involved: • Premium and the Premium trial: higher position and a chance to appear in the featured slots at the top; • "Until sold" boost: featured placement for up to 60 days; • 7-day boost: a smaller lift for 7 days; • dealer plans: dealers can feature some listings in the featured slots; • CarPulse can also give Premium placement to dealer listings as part of its commercial arrangements with dealers. Featured slots rotate every day among all eligible promoted listings, so the same listing is not always first. Every listing with paid or promoted placement shows the label "Promoted" ("Promovuar" in Albanian, "Promosso" in Italian), on the search results, the home page, the listing page and in recommendations.
Other sort orders
If you choose to sort by price, year, mileage, newest or distance, the results follow that order. Promoted listings can still appear in separate slots that carry the "Promoted" label.
What we do not do
We do not change the price, details or reviews of a listing because of a payment, and no payment removes a listing that breaks our rules. Hidden or unlabelled paid placement is not allowed.
